3rd year in a row, Chanda gets 3 stars as waste-free city

Chandrapur: The Chandrapur city has, for the third consecutive year, received 3-star rating in waste-free cities category of Swachh Survekshan 2022 under Swachh Bharat Mission.
The continued efforts of the Chandrapur Municipal Corporation (CMC) to keep the city garbage-free by ensuring waste collection and segregation day and night with the help of sanitation workers in different shifts have yielded the desired results. Apart from this, enthusiastic public participation has also helped in maintaining the city clean and green.
The rating is given to recognise the good work done by cities/towns, states and Union Territories towards keeping their areas garbage free and maintaining cleanliness.
The central sanitary inspection committee had inspected multiple places under the municipal area without prior intimation as a part of the Swachh Survekshan.
Direct feedback about cleanliness of the city was taken from the citizens through interaction while conducting the inspection. Similarly, the response of the citizens was also recorded on the Swachhata app launched by the central government. Based on the spot inspections and public feedback, the ratings were announced.
