E S’bhum DC asks govt school principals to better edu quality
Jamshedpur: East Singhbhum deputy commissioner (DC) Vijaya Jadhav on Wednesday told the principals of the state government-run schools that it is the duty of the teachers concerned to ensure that all students perform well in examinations.
Exams are conducted every month to identify the loopholes in the lessons being imparted and rectify those, she added.
Jadhav said teachers must be strict while correcting the answer sheets of students during monthly examinations and deduct marks for spelling mistakes too.
Also, any kind of malpractice by the students must not go unnoticed by the invigilators and strict action should be taken against the erring students by the school management. This would force the students to learn well and score good marks during the final and board exams. If tough steps are not taken now, it would not be possible to ensure quality education in government-run schools, she asserted.
Taking up the issue of students giving long questions a miss during exams since in-person classes resumed and exams became offline, the DC said the students must be encouraged to attempt all the questions and not take short cuts to score marks by attempting only the multiple choice and objective questions.
