Contractor acquitted of rape charge

Thane: A 54-year-old labour contractor from Wada in Palghar, who was tried for an offence of repeated rape of an employee, was acquitted by Thane sessions court.
The court on Tuesday acquitted Dharam Chavan as the prosecution failed to prove the charges.
The victim, who was at the time aged 19, was working with the accused along with other men and women. —Nishikant Karlikar
