PRAYAGRAJ: Khuldabad police have claimed to solved the case wherein a 35-year-old man had died while another was critically injured after being beaten up by an angry mob over suspicion of being thieves in Beniganj locality on Monday night.
According to Inspector Khuldabad, Raj Kishore Singh, the police have arrested two persons including Jagdish Prasad Shukla and Satyendra Shukla, both of Beniganj locality while three others including Pushpendra Shukla, Luv Kush and Dilip are absconding. Police say that the arrested persons have acknowledged that they were involved in beating two persons on Monday night.
Two persons were beaten by an unidentified mob at Baba crossing of Beniganj locality after being allegedly found to be involved in theft. Both hail from the Kareli area. The two—Zaheer alias Gappu and 26-year-old Mustaq alias Munna-- were found in an injured condition on the road near Baba Chauraha by passersby who called the police.Police reached the spot and took the duo to Swaroop Rani Nehru Hospital where doctors declared Zaheer brought dead.
Condition of Mustaq was serious. The police team, while probing the case, involved the field unit and sniffer dogs which were taken to the place where the two persons were found on Tuesday morning.
The sniffer dog helped the probing police team to reach one of the godown areas of the area where police found some blood stains too. The police team also searched the CCTV footage and enquired the locals and arrested two from the area.
“The arrested persons informed that for a couple of days, the wire and other equipment that were kept in a godown were going missing because of which they had installed a CCTV camera. On Monday night when they saw these two youths, trying to take away the equipment from the godown, they were caught, beaten and left at a place”, said Singh. They later came to know that one of them had died while the other was seriously injured, he added. Search for the three others is on by the police team.
