GREATER NOIDA: Residents under the banner of the New Era Flat Owners Welfare Association (NEFOWA) met the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) CEO Ritu Maheshwari over pending civic issues like broken roads, sanitation, service road upkeep, a high mast and streetlights, cleaning and cover on open drains.
The residents also demanded a footbridge on a 130 metre wide road opposite Sector 16B, an underpass at Gaur Chowk for the redress of excessive traffic, a sports stadium, a Ramlila ground, which can be used as a multipurpose cultural place and a crematorium in the city.
The CEO directed the builders to repair the roads within two weeks, and the officials to expedite the evaluation process of the underpass work. "We have been raising the civic issues and demanding a footbridge and an underpass in the Greater Noida West area for a long time. We met GNIDA CEO during the public hearing scheduled by the authority. There is a need for resurfacing of the service road in Techzone-4 from Nirala Estate to La Residencia, another road from Artha SEZ to Ekamurti roundabout and more," said Abhishek Kumar president NEFOWA.
While Maheshwari has directed the builders to fix the roads, no timeline was given on other demands of a stadium and Ramlila ground. "Maheshwari said that she will discuss the issues and revert," said Manish Kumar, vice president of NEFOWA.
