Kanpur: A day after the last rites of
Samajwadi Party patriarch Mulayam Singh were held in Saifai on Tuesday, his younger brother and PSPL chief Shivpal Yadav talked of ‘taking everyone along’.
“Netaji had written a new saga of socialism. His ideology will be immortal. Netaji used to take everyone along, I will also follow the same path. I took every decision in my life only on the instructions of Netaji,” Shivpal said.
He went on to say that he would handle whatever responsibility was given to him. “Along with home, family, society and the entire Saifai, I will take along those who have not got honour anywhere,” he said.
On what will happen to PSPL, he said: “This is not the time to talk about it.” He, however, added that whatever decision he will take, it will be with the consent of everyone and he will take everyone along.
Shivpal said, “Netaji was our father. From childhood till now, we have served him as much as we could. Today, the world of our mind seems to be shrinking. He had done the work of uplifting the minorities. But he is not with us today.”
He said, “Whoever has come to Netaji.. whoever has worked with him. He never offended him/her. I have also tried to follow the same path in life and will continue to do so. We will try to follow his ideology.”
On Mulayam’s relationship with other senior politicians and Prime Minister
Narendra Modi, the PSPL chief said, “Netaji was above party. Whoever brought family, party or his problem to him, he used to solve it. The reason for the work he has done for the people. Everyone came here from across various parts of the state and country. See how they used to love and believe in Netaji. Atal Ji (late prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee) also respected Netaji a lot, even Advani Ji respected him a lot and had good relations. PM Modi also had a good rapport with Netaji . Apart from this, people from other parties also used to believe in Netaji a lot.”
He further said, “In today’s era, being a leader means something else, but the true meaning of leader is to lead the people.”
