MYSURU: An 11-year-old girl is suspected to have developed symptoms similar to monkeypox in Mysuru. Samples have been collected and sent for testing in Bengaluru. Health officials have cautioned the public to report cases similar to monkeypox immediately.
District health officer Dr K H Prasad said the girl from KR Nagar was diagnosed with symptoms by a private practitioner. “After the health officials were alerted about it, our team collected samples and sent them for testing. The girl is doing fine and has been isolated at her home,” he said.
“Based on clinical symptoms, the samples of the girl were collected and sent to Bengaluru. We are awaiting the result, which is expected in the next 10 days,” said district health department officials.
