The Guru Arjan Dev Ji gurdwara in West Delhi's Mahavir Nagar was built by the Afghan Sikhs who escaped to India after the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan in the late 90's. Today, this is a shelter and source of spititual solace for the same community who had to flee Afghanistan after Taliban took over. There are about 30,000 Afghan Sikhs in India according to estimates, and most of them are in Delhi
