Varanasi: The department of Geology, Institute of Science, Banaras Hindu University is going to organise the three-day 7th edition of the Rock Deformation and Structures conference from October 13 to 15 under the aegis of Structural Geology and Tectonic Studies Group India (SGTSGI).
According to the BHU spokesperson, there will be five key note lectures, 28 oral presentation, and 55 poster presentations based on five scientific sessions including Brittle deformation, Ductile deformation, Large scale structures and Planetary Tectonics, Modelling in Structural Geology and Tectonic studies, Applications in Natural Resource Potential and Exploration. The 6th session is based on the field introductory session with four lectures from eminent scientists of the country.
More than 120 participants will attend the conferences with many eminent academicians, scientists, post docs, PhD and masters students from across the country. The inauguration function will be attended by the director of the Institute of Science, Prof Anil Kumar Tripathi, president of SGTSGI, Prof Dhrubajyoti Mukhopadhyay, secretary of SGTSGI, Prof Santanu Bose, and others.
