LUCKNOW: To ensure that every person affected by the floods in
UP's Lakhimpur Kheri receives government aid, divisional commissioner Roshan Jacob — along with district magistrate Mahendra Bahadur Singh, chief development officer Anil Singh and other officials — visited the affected areas in the remote villages on tractor and boat, as government vehicles were useless due to unavailability of roads on Thursday.

The DC made a surprise visit to Kheri in order to take stock of ongoing relief operations.

For nearly one and a half hours, the officials toured the submerged village Jagannathpurwa and its neighboring hamlets on two boats under the command of sub-inspector Ajay Singh and assistant sub-inspector Ranjan Jaiswal.
Local residents had lodged complaints with DC about no power supply in the village, following which instructions were issued to discom the executive engineer to restore the power supply by the end of the day.
Later, Jacob, along with DM and CDO, rode on a tractor trolley to reach Manglipurwa, Ghoom, Jungle No 11, Kardahiya and many other villages for two hours.
After interaction with affected villagers, the DC instructed officers to conduct surveys and prepare an action plan to provide land and home in order to rehabilitate the homeless families.
During the DC's visit to Karsaur village, Jacob ordered the PWD to restore the Karsaur-Chakpurwa Link Road under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana.
