Agencies
The service is to be held in Westminster Abbey for the crowning of King Charles III, along with his wife Camilla Parker Bowles as Queen Consort. The venue for the coronation has been the same for the past 900 years. The date has been chosen to keep in mind the British weather as it is May 6, 2023, and the loyal subjects would be expected to attend in full strength. The Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, would conduct the ceremony and crown the new king. The programme will last one hour.

The St Edward crown, which the late Queen wore, will now be worn by Charles III. The usual pageantry is expected to be played out with a modern ceremony with an eye for the future.

The banks are likely to be working as usual. However, no announcements have been made yet. It might be recalled that Queen Elizabeth’s crowning took three years in the presence of 8,000 dignitaries. The gold state coach had been used to go riding through the streets to seek the blessings of the subjects who had lined the streets.

Popular Shows & Films On The Life And Times of Queen Elizabeth II

Queen Elizabeth II was the longest reigning monarch in the history of the UK. Throughout her reign, the Queen had been seen as one of the most admired and respected personalities in the world. While it is commonly perceived that the Queen’s life would have classy sans drama, however, her life in the palace turns out to be quite the contrary. From her ascension to the throne to her relationship with Prince Philip, from Prince Charles cheating on Diana to Harry and Meghan quitting duties - the Queen’s life was quite a spectacle that attracted wide public attention and media glare.

The Queen’s life and the events surrounding her reign have always ignited curiosity and have been translated into numerous shows, movies, and books. From award-winning films to television shows, there's something for everyone. When it comes to the Queen's life, which has been a roller coaster of events, there are so many options. King Charles III succeeded the Queen after her death, but the coronation legally puts the stamp of approval on the former’s ascension. The date also coincides with the birthday of Prince Harry’s son Archie, and people are anxious to know if he will fly down from the USA.
