Kanpur: Union Minister Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti, who arrived at Saifai on Tuesday to attend the funeral of founder and patron of Samajwadi Party, Mulayam Singh Yadav, suffered a fracture in her left arm. The incident took place when she fell down after being pushed by the crowd.
During the treatment in the district hospital, doctors said that as per the CT scan, the minister had suffered a fracture.
District hospital’s orthopaedic specialist Dr Deepak Gupta said that the minister reached the hospital with a complaint of pain in her hand. “After the CT scan, it came to fore that the minister had suffered a mild fracture in the elbow and subsequently, plaster was cast, besides medicines were also provided,” he added.
“We have advised her to get another CT scan done again after a couple of days,” said the doctor further.
While briefing the media, the minister described Mulayam Singh Yadav as a grassroot leader.
When asked about the injury, the minister said, “The one who works in the society, also gets hurt. It’s a minor injury, no need to worry and I am fine.”
She left after staying in the safe house at the district hospital for about an hour. District magistrate Avnish Rai, additional district magistrate Jaiprakash and chief medical officer Dr Geeta Ram were present.
