Goa: Hyderabad man stabbed by resort employee
The Calangute police have registered an offence of attempt to murder.
PANAJI: A person from Hyderabad was stabbed in the neck with a knife allegedly by a resort staffer at the Sinquerim helipad, Candolim, on Wednesday afternoon. The suspected accused, Amit Dhawan, has been arrested.
Calangute PI Dattaguru Sawant said they received information about the stabbing when the victim, Satish Kumar Reddy, 45, was brought injured to the primary health centre, Candolim.
Following a complaint registered by the victim's friend, police teams were pressed into action and intelligence was collected and Dhawan, who had fled from the spot in his car, was apprehended at Porvorim after a successful chase within hours of the incident.
The knife used in the assault has been recovered and the car has also been seized, police said.
The Calangute police have registered an offence of attempt to murder. It is suspected that the stabbing incident was due to a dispute over a money matter, PI Sawant said.
