Thiruvananthapuram: Traffic regulations have been put in place in the city from 10am to 2pm on Wednesday in view of the protest march by the workers of the National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (NREGA) from Manaveeyam Road to Raj Bhavan on Wednesday, informed city police commissioner G Sparjan Kumar.
In addition to the existing traffic points, 45 additional points have also been put in place by deploying police officers on duty. Parking will be strictly prohibited along roads at Peroorkada-Vellayambalam, Vellayambalam-Sasthamangalam, Vellayambalam-Museum-Nandavanam, Bakery Junction and Vellayambalam-Vazhuthacaud stretch.
Big vehicles from Peroorkada to Kizhakkekotta must take Oolambara-Pippinmoodu-Sasthamangalam-Idapazhinji and Vazhuthacaud stretch and small vehicles shall take Kowdiar-Kuravankonam-Pattom or Kowdiar-Golf Links-Pipinmoodu-Sasthamangalam route. Vehicles towards Kizhakkekotta from Peroorkada must take corporation office-Nanthancode-Tennis Club-Kowdiar Road and Bakery-Vazhuthacaud-Idapazhinji Road towards Maruthankuzhi.
City police have urged people to cooperate with the regulations.
