Cops to leave for Hyd to nab drug suppliers
Panaji: After a Hyderabad native was arrested with drugs at Siolim on Wednesday, crime branch SP Nidhin Valsan said they have received vital clues of the drug supply chain from Hyderabad to Goa. Valsan said a Goa police team will be leaving for Hyderabad soon to arrest at least six persons who supply drugs to Goa.
On Wednesday, the crime branch arrested Yeshwant Reddy, 25, a resident of Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Telangana. He had been residing at Gudem, Siolim, at the time of the offence and was found to be in his possession of one polythene bag containing white crystal powder suspected to be MDMA, weighing 2.2 grams, and worth approximately Rs 25,000 in the international market.
The Mapusa JMFC has remanded the accused to seven days in police custody and further investigation is on.
