NOIDA: Four parking operators have been arrested for allegedly hitting a man with a stick at the Modi Mall entrance over a parking row, cops said. Police have taken preventive action against the accused under Section 151 of the Code Of Criminal Procedure (CrPC).
According to police, Santosh, Saurabh Kumar and Anand, currently living in Noida, and Mithlesh, a resident of Haryana’s Faridabad, took law and order into their hands. “On Monday evening, a video of the incident went viral on social media. It shows a man hitting another outside Modi Mall with a stick. A team from Sector 24 police station rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control,” Ashutosh Dwivedi, additional deputy commissioner of police, Noida, said.
The video shows two groups arguing over parking a bike outside the mall. The argument becomes heated, and a man attacks another with a stick. “We have taken the three parking operators in custody and taken preventive action against them. The accused revealed that the other group was creating a scene — they parked their vehicle at the entrance of the parking lot, causing a traffic jam. When the parking operators objected, they started abusing them. So, the former lost their cool and attacked. The other party has not registered a police complaint in connection with the incident,” Dwivedi said.
Police took action based on the video on social media and produced the accused before the magistrate on Tuesday. “During our investigation, we found that a man, Mukesh Kishnani, a manager at an MNC, invited a couple of employees, Nitin Kumar and Anurag Pal, to his birthday party at Modi Mall on Monday. After the party, Pal took out his bike and went towards the entrance area of the parking lot. As the parking operators got into a heated argument with him over moving his vehicle, Kishnani came out and saw his employee getting thrashed, after which he alerted others,” Dwivedi said.
