Belagavi: The new road over bridge (level crossing No.381) constructed at the 3rd railway gate in Tilakwadi here is all set to be inaugurated.
District in-charge minister Govind Karjol and MP Mangala Angadi will inaugurate the
ROB on Wednesday.
The ROB, constructed at a cost of Rs 27.28 crore, will be a solution to the traffic congestion at the 3rd railway gate. It is the fourth ROB in Belagavi.
Considering the traffic problem, the work of ROB started in January 2019.
Suresh Angadi, the late minister of state for railways, had laid the foundation stone for the structure. The deadline for the work was March 2020 but it was extended due to Covid-19.
The ROB has been built on a 50-50 cost-sharing basis between the ministry of railways and the government of Karnataka.
Due to the snail’s pace of work, frustrated businessmen had approached MP Mangala Angadi a month ago, urging her to inaugurate the ROB.
After that, MP Angadi inspected the work and instructed that the ROB be opened in the interest of the public.
