Panaji: A North Goa court has dismissed bail applications of 46-year-old Salim Mohamad Khan and Malik Mehaboob Sayed in a narcotics case after they were arrested last month.
Khan was found in possession of MDMA, ganja and amphetamine at his house. Special public prosecutor M Nazareth said that Khan in his statement disclosed he had procured the recovered amphetamine through a person called Malik.
The court held that the investigation is in progress and although quantity is variable the accused doesn’t have a permanent residence with identity proof. “It is the contention as per the say of the investigation officer that the applicant has revealed the details of the supplier as a Nigerian national from where the drugs were procured and further supplied to his co-accused namely Salim Khan. Hence the applicant is a part of a big drug syndicate which requires to be investigated,” the court held.
