Man does stunts on moving train, ends up dead
Ludhiana: Performing stunts on a moving train cost a man his life as his head hit a pole near Chava railway station of Khanna. A video of the incident went viral on social media on Tuesday. However, the incident took place on October 6. Government Railway Police (GRP) officials said that the deceased has not been identified yet.
In the 17-second long video, which went viral, a man is seen hanging outside the Malwa express near Samrala over a bridge near Chava Railway station while an unidentified man captured a video of him hanging outside. The clip shows his head hitting a pole and him falling down on impact. He died on the spot.
Investigating officer, ASI Tajinder Singh said that on October 6, at around 4pm, information was received that a man was found dead on the railway tracks near Chava railway station. Initial probe found that he was travelling in the Malwa Express. Initially, he said they thought that the man must be sitting at the door but they came to know he was performing stunts when the video went viral.
ASI added that the deceased had not been identified yet as no identity proof or mobile phone was recovered from his possession. He added that the deceased appeared to be in his early 30s. They suspect that the passenger who was recording the video was known to the deceased, however he did not talk to anyone to avoid action. According to Tajinder Singh, the GRP waited for 72 hours, after which they got the autopsy done and cremated the body on Monday.
On asking if it could be a suicide case, as the man had seen the pole, the investigating officer said, “He seems to be doing stunts. When the pole came near, he slightly tilted his head to avoid getting hit but met with an accident and died. So far, no one has approached us to identify him.”
