Ira Township home significantly damaged in Tuesday fire

A house suffered significant fire, smoke and water damage following a fire Tuesday in Ira Township.

Rescue crews responded to the 8800 block of Miller Street shortly after 8:15 a.m., finding fire on the outside and through the roof of the home, Ira Township Fire Chief Jason Keller said.

All occupants and pets inside the home got out safely and there were no injuries, Keller said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Clay Township, Marine City, New Baltimore, Algonac and Lenox Township fire departments assisted at the scene, as well as Tri-Hospital EMS and Clay Township Police Department.
