Ludhiana: Ludhiana police on Monday brought dreaded gangster Jaggu Bhagwanpuria on a production warrant in Sidhu Moose Wala killing case. He was produced before the court following which the local police got his remand for seven days.
Jaggu Bhagwanpuria has been in the the custody of Punjab Police in the Moose Wala murder case.
Ludhiana police had already arrested Jaggu’s close friend Sandeep Singh Kahlon and Satbir Singh (both of Amritsar) who had sent shooters to Bathinda with two bags of weapons.
Inspector Beant Juneja, in-charge, CIA-II of Ludhiana police commissionerate, said the Ludhiana police had arrested Satbir Singh, a stud farm owner of Amritsar on June 30, after his car was captured at a Bathinda filling station CCTV footage with suspected shooters. Following his arrest, Satbir had revealed that his friend Sandeep Singh Kahlon had asked him to drop three men to Bathinda. It was found that Satbir had dropped two shooters Manddeep Toofan and Manpreet Rayya with an unidentified accused and on the way they had picked two bags of weapons. Thereafter on July 9, the police had arrested Kahlon, who is the nephew of a senior Akali leader.
“During questioning, Kahlon had revealed that he and Jaggu Bhagwanpuria have had good relations for years. He had told Satbir to drop the trio as Jaggu had asked for it. Moreover on Jaggu’s directions, Kahlon had given shelter to the shooters at his house for a few months,” Juneja added.
The inspector said the police have brought Bhagwanpuria on a production warrant for questioning. He was produced before the court and now is on a 7-day police remand.
