Jaipur: The body of a 24-year-old man was found in Jyoti Nagar nullah on Monday morning, sparking panic among the residents of Kathputli Nagar and nearby areas. Police said the man, identified as Ajay Tamboli, was working as a cleaner in a private office in C-scheme in the city and was missing since Saturday, when there was incessant rainfall in Jaipur. After looking at CCTV footages in which Tamboli was seen walking towards Jyoti Nagar from C-scheme alone and also after getting relevant evidence, police termed his death as an accident.
Locals intimated the police control room at 6:30am on Monday about the spotting of a young man’s body. A team of officials from Jyoti Nagar police station rushed to the spot. It was found that Tamboli’s father had lodged a missing report about him at Ashok Nagar police station on Sunday.
“We have found that at 6pm he left his office and went to a wine shop with a friend. They boozed together. The friend who was supposed to take him on his bike lost the bike’s keys, and so Tamboli decided to walk alone. We have tallied CCTV footages in which he was seen walking towards Jyoti Nagar area. We found his ID and Rs 4,000 in his pocket. He got his salary on Saturday and had also withdrawn Rs 7,000,” said Jyoti Nagar police station SHO Vikram Singh.
