Erode: Three boys who went fishing in lake drown

ERODE: Three boys who ventured into a lake at Anthiyur in Erode district for fishing drowned on Monday evening. The deceased were identified as B Sibinesan, 11, V Raghavan, 10, and G Nandha Kishore, 10, all from Natrayan Nagar in Andhiyur.
They were Class V students of a government school at Thavittupalayam. The trio went to the Senkattukuttai lake for fishing after school. “The boys did not return home,” a police officer from Andhiyur station said.
Panicked parents of the boys launched a search. They found the school bags and uniforms of the boys lying on the banks of the lake. They immediately informed the Andhiyur police.
Personnel from fire and rescue services retrieved the bodies from the lake after searching for an hour. The bodies were sent to the government hospital in Andhiyur for postmortem. A case was registered and further inquiry is on.
