No person from my caste, family has ever sought any favour from me: Modi
PM Narendra Modi accepted on Monday that he had a debt to his caste for allowing him the strength to carry out his responsibilities because “a son of this caste was CM for the longest time” and then had “become PM for a second time”, but that during this entire period “not one person from my caste has even once approached me for any favour”.
“This is not an insignificant thing,” he said to huge applause at the inauguration of Modi Shaikshanik Sankul in Ahmedabad. He added: “I have also been fortunate that my family has stayed away from me. As a result, like the community has never been an obstacle to others, I have been able to not be an obstacle to others.”
The educational complex, which has been made by the Modh Vanik Modi Samaj, will provide residential facilities and training to needy students from the community.
“Societies that focus on education will succeed. Keeping focus on ways to make education more accessible to the youth is one of the main ways to success,” he said.
