Cops recover human remains from jungle

Ponda: The Ponda police on Tuesday afternoon recovered skeletal remains scattered below a tree in the jungle at Pansule, Dharbandora. They also found a mobile phone and an Aadhaar card tied to the same tree. Based on the information on the card, the police suspect that the skeleton could be of Sunil Kumar Sahni, 31, a native of Bihar.
The remains have been sent to the GMC, Bambolim, for a forensic study that is likely to be conducted on Wednesday. They were spotted by a group of people who had gone into the forest to clear a pathway leading to their property.
A case of suicidal unnatural death has been registered under provisions of the CrPC.
