Synopsis

Zoom, who has been part of many active operations in south Kashmir, was tasked with clearing the house where the militants were hiding.

A brave assault dog named Zoom helped the Army take out two militants in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir despite receiving two gunshots, reports said.

Zoom, who has been part of many active operations in south Kashmir, was tasked with clearing the house where the militants were hiding.

During the operation, the canine identified and attacked them but received two gunshots and was critically injured.

But even after getting hit, Zoom kept on fighting them and it resulted in the killing of two militants.

"In spite of severe injuries, the brave soldier continued his task which resulted in neutralisation of two terrorists," PTI quoted an Army official as saying.

Zoom was rushed to the Army's Vet Hospital here where the canine is currently under treatment.

Amry officials called Zoom a "highly trained, ferocious, and committed canine who has been trained to locate and bring down terrorists".

This encounter happened after security forces launched a cordon and search operation in the Tangpawa area of Anantnag district after receiving specific input about the presence of terrorists.

Two Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists were killed in the encounter, while two soldiers received injuries.
