Dibrugarh: Union minister of ports, shipping and waterways and Ayush Sarbananda Sonowal on Sunday paid a visit to his alma mater, the Dibrugarh Hanumanbux Surajmal Kanoi College, to attend the ongoing platinum jubilee celebrations.
During the visit, the Union minister walked down memory lane, interacted with students and discussed several issues, including academics, sports and cultural subjects, with them. Sonowal expressed his desire to meaningfully contribute for a new gymnasium and upgradation of the college playground.
Known as the ‘Strong Man of Kanoi College’ during his student days, Sonowal emphasised the significance of physical fitness and good health while pursuing goals in academics and professional fields for excellent results. He also recalled how his days spent in the alma mater have always played a pivotal role in his life, as it has been shaping the lives of students in the region.
Sonowal said, “We have to brace ourselves for a tough competition in every aspect of life. We must upgrade ourselves in every possible way.”
