Bodies of 3 women found in Kureecha dam identified

JHANSI: Police on Sunday identified the bodies of the three women recovered from Kurecha (Saprar) dam in Mauranipur area of Jhansi on late Saturday evening.
The victims have been identified as Reenu Purwar (28), Ritu Purwar (30) both sisters, and their 26-year-old friend Rinki Arya. All belong to the Mauranipur area of the district. Of these, Ritu is married.
All the three had left the house on Friday afternoon for Bageshwar Dham, a religious place in Chattarpur (MP), said Rinki's father.
Police are yet to decipher the sequence of events. Both the sisters used to visit these religious places once in a month.
SSP Jhansi, Rajesh S said, "The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination. Preliminary inquiry revealed no injury marks on the bodies. It seems to be a case of drowning".
