Minor boy electrocuted during procession in Jalaun

KANPUR: A 15-year-old minor, who was part of the Eid-Milad-un-Nabi procession, got electrocuted while another sustained serious burns, after the flags they were carrying came in contact with a high-tension wire in Jalaun district.
Immediately, the family took both of them to the district hospital, where the doctors declared one dead and in view of the critical condition of the other child, referred him to the higher medical centre.
Owais (15) and Fahim alias Kallu (13), residents of Karsan Road, sustained serious burn wounds, after the flag they were carrying during the Eid -Milad-un-Nabi procession, came in contact with a high tension line near the graveyard located on Karsan Road in the City Kotwali police area of the district.
Uwais, who had sustained serious burns died while Faheem is undergoing treatment in the Jhansi medical college. The police sent the body of Owais for a post-mortem examination.
Inspector Kotwali Shiv Kumar Rathore said investigation is on to find out how the accident had happened.
“Meanwhile, the body of the deceased has been sent for post-mortem examination,” the inspector added.
