KALYAN: Eknath Shinde group’s MLA Balaji Kinikar on Monday staged a protest at the office of Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran (MJP) over inadequate water supply in several areas of Ambernath.
Kinikar alleged that despite making several demands, the MJP not ensuring proper water supply.
“We have found disparities in the supply of water,” he said.
Kinikar said he had also spoken to water supply department principal secretary Sanjiv Jaiswal over the phone demanding suspension action against MJP officials if they fail to provide regular water supply in the next two days.
He blamed the MJP officials for the shortage of supply of water, saying, even when there is a severe water shortage in the city, how the tanker mafia in the city gets a regular water supply.
Sunil Chaudhary, the ex-president of Ambernath municipal council who was also present during the protest, said, "In order to get increased water supply to Ambernath city, we are making follow up with the government and soon adequate water supply will be available to Ambernath city".
