KMDK demands four-laning of Salem-Ulundurpet Road
Salem: Kongunadu Makkal Desiya Katchi (KMDK) general secretary and Tiruchengode MLA E R Eswaran started a three-day procession on Sunday demanding four-laning of Salem-Ulundurpet Road. The MLA started the procession from Masinaickenpatty, on the outskirts of Salem city.
“As many as 50 people were killed in accidents on the stretch. More people will lose their lives if the four-laning work gets delayed,” he told reporters. “I petitioned the Union minister concerned several times, but got no response.”
Eswaran also urged the government not to collect toll until the road is made four-lane. Namakkal MP A K P Chinraj and KMDK functionaries accompanied Eswaran. TNN
