Stock market update: Nifty Bank index falls 0.94% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded negative around 11:00AM(IST)on Monday in a weak market.

Axis Bank(up 1.14 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Bandhan Bank(down 3.18 per cent), HDFC Bank(down 1.96 per cent), Federal Bank(down 1.79 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 1.52 per cent) and Bank of Baroda(down 1.48 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Bank index was down 0.94 per cent at 38808.75 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 203.15 points at 17111.5, while the BSE Sensex was down 666.93 points at 57524.36.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 3 were trading in the green, while 47 were in the red.

Shares of JP Power, , , Zomato Ltd. and were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of , , GRSE, and hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Ishan International Ltd., , Tips ., Kandarp Digi Smart BPO Ltd. and hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
