KALABURAGI: A 21-year-old youth was killed by his friends by slitting his throat and a huge stone was thrown on his head at Chandankera village in Kalagi taluk of the district on Saturday.
Passersby noticed the body early in the morning and informed police, who identified the deceased as Rajappa Satakhed, a resident of Kotaga village. According to the family members of the deceased, Rajappa had gone with his friends on Friday evening and did not return. Only on Saturday morning they heard about his murder. Police said Rajappa’s friends, who allegedly took him with them, killed him after drinking liquor with him at midnight.
Police are searching for his absconding friends Anand, Baburao and others. Rajappa’s brother Pavan has filed a complaint with Ratakal Police of Kalagi taluk.
In another incident, an aged person died when a KKRTC bus hit him. It is said that the driver did not see the victim while reversing the vehicle. Police are yet to identify the body and have shifted to the GIMS mortuary.
