Kolkata: Cops, CCTVs to keep watch on Tala bridge

KOLKATA: The Shyambazar traffic guard is set to implement multiple plans to curb accidents and congestion on the Tala bridge.
"We have installed seven CCTV cameras on the flyover. Buses have been barred from stopping on the bridge. We are now deploying cops at either ends to ensure there is no dangerous riding by bikers. As an additional step, we are also demarcating bus bays," explained an officer.
There are also suggestions of installing mesh wire on both flanks of the bridge, increasing the height of railings with rolling barriers, using rolling barriers as median dividers and better illumination.
