Shah calls for zero tolerance towards drugs
Guwahati: Union home minister Amit Shah called upon for zero tolerance towards drugs to achieve PM Narendra Modi’s vison of a drug-free India by 2047. He was speaking at the regional meeting on drug trafficking and national security here on Saturday. The meeting was attended by CMs of the seven northeastern states where Shah applauded the efforts of Narcotics Control Bureau in the fight against drug abuse within and beyond the country to contain the drug flow. He expressed his concern that all the seven states face an alarming level of drug abuse, more than the average abuse in the country, and directed it to take effective steps on the Indo-Myanmar and Bangladesh borders to curb cross-border involvement of foreign nationals.
