Businessman shot at outside Thane home

THANE: A businessman associated with the real estate industry suffered serious injuries after he was shot at from close range by an unidentified person outside his Majiwada residence late on Friday.
Preliminary investigation hinted that business rivalry or some financial matter may have been the motive.
The attack occurred when the victim, who owns a stone crushing and construction material supplying business in Thane district, was in his building. "The assailant, who was masked, was probably well aware of the businessman's daily schedule and must have been trailing him. The victim was at his doorstep when the assailant approached him and opened fire," a police official said.
Police have filed a case against the unidentified attacker and are also checking the CCTV footage of the building and nearby areas.
