Man hits 7-yr-old boy with stick for playing in sand, FIR registered

Gurgaon: A seven-year-old boy was allegedly thrashed by a man with a stick in Bhondsi for playing on sand kept for an ongoing construction of a house. Police said the accused even hit another man Saroj Singh who intervened in the matter and tried to stop him. Police have registered a case of criminal intimidation.
Singh told police that the incident took place on Wednesday. He was standing in front of his house in Krishna Kunj colony in Bhondsi when some children, who were playing on the road, approached him and complained about a man who was beating up a boy badly with a stick.
“I rushed to the spot where I saw a child sitting on the road crying. On asking the reason, he complained that a man hit him with a stick for playing on sand kept for construction purposes,” as Singh stated in his complaint on Thursday.
When the complainant confronted the accused Ashwani Kumar, he allegedly misbehaved with him and also threatened him to leave from there.
“I took the child with me and when I turned to go back to my home, the accused hit my head with an iron rod from behind. As a result, I fell on the road in an unconscious state. Neighbours took me to a private hospital and also informed the police on Thursday," Singh said.
Investigating officer, Narender Kumar said the accused has been booked under IPC sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 506 (criminal intimidation). “We have started the investigation into the matter. No arrest has been made so far,” added Kumar.
