UK Minister Conor Burns loses ministry, Tory whip post over 'serious misconduct' accusations

After "allegations of inappropriate behavior earlier this week," the Tory Minister for Trade, who was also a close aide to former Prime Minister Boris Johnson, has lost the Whip and is being examined by the Whips' Office.

After a complaint of severe wrongdoing, UK minister of state in the Trade department Conor Burns was dismissed and lost the Tory whip. Whips' Office examined Conor Burns after claims from this week's party conference in Birmingham.

Conor Burns said he would help with the probe and vindicate his name. Whips' Office spokesman has explained that they've suspended the Whip awaiting an investigation into unacceptable behavior this week and that such accusations are taken extremely seriously.

Upon learning about this allegation, the PM took immediate action and made it clear that all ministers must uphold the high standards of conduct that the public rightly demands.

Following an accusation of serious wrongdoing, the Prime Minister has requested Tory Conor Burns MP to leave the cabinet immediately, according to a No10 spokesperson.

The claim is the most recent in a series of scandals that have afflicted the Conservative Party in recent months.
In June, Chris Pincher was deprived of his position as deputy chief whip after allegations that he inappropriately touched two men in a club.
