KARNAL: A special task force from Ambala on Saturday arrested a member of the Ankush Kamalpur gang and recovered 3 country-made pistols along with 12 rounds of ammunition from him.
The accused has been identified as Rahul, a resident of Point village in Karnal district.
Inspector Deepender Rana said that the accused was arrested on Friday under Sadar police station area. Rahul was an active member and supplier of Ankush Kamalpur gang.
Rana said that last week, the STF had arrested Mukesh Jhambha and seized 4 foreign-made pistols and 10 rounds of ammunition from him. During the police remand, Mukesh revealed that he had supplied the weapons to Rahul.
As per the police record, Rahul faces several criminal cases, which include loot, an attempt to murder, and others. He was running at large in these cases and Karnal police had issued a look-out circular notice against him.
The STF inspector said that a case under section the Arms Act was registered against him at the Sadar police station of Karnal and he will be produced before the court to seek a police remand.
