NOIDA: The body of a 14-year-old boy was found in Sector 62 on Friday afternoon, two days after he went missing, police said, adding that it appears he died of electrocution.
“Around 12.30pm on Friday, a woman informed us that her son had been found dead near a drain around the Bengali market in Sector 62. A team was immediately rushed to the spot and the body was sent for post mortem," said Vivek Trivedi, SHO at the Sector 58 police station.
Vishu, whose family belongs to Etawah and currently lives in Chotpur colony in Sector 63, worked at a food stall and did not return home on October 5.
“The stall owner told the family he had left after working at a Dussehra mela in Sector 62 on Wednesday night,” Trivedi said.
Police said the body did not have any injury marks, and the post-mortem report will confirm whether Vishu died of electrocution or any other cause.
Vishu’s family members on Friday alleged that they had approached the police on Thursday to file a missing persons complaint, but the cops did not take any action.
“We went to the police chowki on the night of October 5, after Vishu he didn't return home, but the chowki in-charge shooed us away,” his mother said.
When asked, police said the family went back after they were told that a team will help them.
