Mysuru: The Union government will disburse funds for the construction of a mega textile park in the Belavadi Industrial Area, work on which will commence in four months, said
Karnataka minister for textiles and sugar, Shankar Patil Munenakoppa in Mysuru on Thursday.
The minister said that all legal hurdles to commence construction of the park, which he said would cost an estimated sum of Rs 50 crore. Although the land required for the park is 10 acres, only seven acres have been acquired, he said. The minister said that, once set up, the park would provide employment for more than 500 people. Munenakoppa said that efforts were under way to construct similar textile parks in five more districts.
