With Sonia joining yatra, Rahul says we’ve faced many storms
Mandya: Making her first public appearance after a long break, Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Thursday walked alongside son Rahul Gandhi as he led Bharat Jodo Yatra for the 27th day in the rice and sugarbowl district of Mandya in Karnataka.
Sonia, in a red cotton printed saree, walked some distance flanked by former Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah and state unit chief DK Shivakumar and followed by a host of senior functionaries amid loud cheers and sloganeering by party workers.
She returned to her car after being persuaded by Rahul and followed him. After some time, she again alighted from the car. Sonia interacted with children, women and party workers. She ended her walk as Rahul and other Congress leaders took a tea break at Chowdenahalli Gate in Pandavapura taluk.
