Hardcore Maoist held in Ranchi

Ranchi: A hardcore Maoist belonging to the People’s Liberation Front of India (PLFI) was arrested here and an assault rifle was seized from his possession, the police said on Thursday.
Sonu Manjhi, who hails from Khunti district, was arrested when he came to meet his mother at her rented accommodation located at the Tonk Basti area under theAirport police station limits on the occasion of Durga Puja, a police officer said.
The police have launched a probe into Manjhi’s motive behind carrying the weapon.
Several cases were registered against Manjhi in Khunti, Ranchi, and Chaibasa districts. IANS
