Belagavi: Welcoming the chief minister’s call for an all-party meeting on October 7 over SC-ST reservation, Panchamsali seer Basava Jaya Mrityunjay Swamiji of Kudalasangam Peeth said CM Bommai must call for a similar meeting to discuss 2A reservation for Panchamasali community.
Speaking here on Thursday the seer said, “We have been fighting for our rights for several years. Yet no chief minister has given us justice.”
“We will hold a discussion on Saturday at Mudalagi under the leadership of Basangouda Patil (Yatnal) and other Panchamasali leaders will also participate. We will discuss the future course of our protest,” he added.
The seer urged CM Bommai to call for an all-party meeting over 2A reservation of Panchamasalis. “As we have not got justice, we have intensified our protest. Despite this, we are hoping that CM Bommai will soon give us good news,” he said.
“Then CM BS Yediyurappa failed to fulfil our demands. We have been fighting for our rights since then. Many Panchamasali leaders have restricted themselves to issuing press statements but only Yatnal has been fighting for our cause in the assembly. However, we still believe CM Bommai may fulfil our demand. If not, we will intensify our protest under Basangouda Yatnal’s leadership,” he said.
