RANCHI: A 50-year-old woman has accused two police constables of raping her in an area under Serengdag police station of Lohardaga district on October 4 afternoon. The woman is admitted to Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (Rims) for treatment of her injuries.
In her statement to the police, the woman said she was cutting grass in a field when the constables posted in a nearby police picket committed the crime. Her relatives rushed the woman to the local district hospital later in the evening, who in turn informed the police about the incident on Wednesday morning. The woman was subsequently shifted to Rims for better treatment.
Navita Mahto, officer-in-charge of women’s police station, said, “The police have recorded the statement of the woman and has registered a case. We are investigating all angles. She is in a stable condition in the hospital.”
