Sexual assault on boy in Karnataka: Man arrested

MANGALURU: Dakshina Kannada district police have arrested a 38-year-old man under the Pocso Act, for sexually assaulting a minor boy, and threatening him.
Police said the incident was first reported about two months ago, when the 17-year-old survivor had been to a hotel. The accused, Mohammed Ashraf alias Tikka Ashraf, had taken him behind the hotel, and allegedly sexually assaulted him.
On Tuesday, when the survivor had been to the hotel again, the accused tried to make advances by inviting him to come with him. When the survivor refused, he was reportedly threatened and assaulted.
A case has been registered under IPC sections 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation), 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt) and under sections of the Pocso Act.
