Water supply to be hit in key parts of south Delhi

NEW DELHI: There will be no water supply in South Extension, Sunder Nagar, Lodhi Road and adjoining areas, along with some NDMC areas, on Friday evening and Saturday morning, Delhi Jal Board officials said.
“Due to the interconnection work for shifting of existing 900 millimetre pipes in the work of the Public Works Department between Gate no. 8 and 7 at ITPO, the water supply in these areas shall not be available or available at low pressure in the evening of October 7 and morning of October 8,” said an advisory issued from Delhi Jal Board on Thursday.
Majnu ka Tila, Raj Ghat, Delhi Secretariat, Supreme Court, Rajiv Chowk, Bengal Market, Kaka Nagar, Rabinder Nagar, among several other areas, are likely to be impacted by the disrupted water supply. “Residents are advised to store sufficient quantities of water in advance as per the requirement. Water tankers will be available at request,” said the advisory further.
