Man killed in Baran by woman’s kin over suspicion of illicit affair
Kota: A 40-year-old man was beaten to death by three relatives of a woman in the neighbourhood over suspicion of illicit relation at Kunjvihar Colony under Baran city police station late on Wednesday night. A murder case was lodged against the three accused, who are yet to be arrested.
The body of Bittal Sharma, an auto driver and resident of Shivaji Nagar area on Atru Road under Baran city police station, was handed over to his family after post-mortem on Thursday morning.
Police said Sharma was attacked with sticks and iron rods when he was returning home after watching the burning of Ravan effigies at around 11pm.
“He sustained critical head injuries and was rushed to a local hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead. The assailants fled from the spot,” said SHO Mangelal Yadav.
Sharma allegedly had an illicit relation with a woman from a nearby colony, which is suspected to be the reason behind the murder as the accused are the woman’s relatives. “The woman’s kin had earlier warned Sharma,” said DSP and CO of the area, Manoj Gupta.
Police booked the three accused – Budhi Prakash, Nagesh and Bhanu, residents of Kunjvihar Colony – for murder and started an investigation. Efforts are on to arrest the trio, said the SHO.
