Margao: Curtorim MLA Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco has written to minister for women and child development, Vishwajit Rane, urging him for speedy disbursal of pending amounts under the Griha Aadhar scheme.
Stating that several people from across the state were yet to receive their pending amounts of the scheme, Lourenco reminded the government of the announcement it made in August that the pending amount of beneficiaries of various government schemes would be credited into the bank accounts of the beneficiaries by August 29.
“The beneficiaries are expressing their agony that whenever they go to the bank to collect the amount they are bluntly told by bank officials that no such amount has been deposited,” the independent MLA told Rane in the letter.
Lourenco also drew Rane’s attention to the non-functional helpline of the women and child development department, as a result of which, Lourenco said, “People have to come all the way to the Panaji office of the department to ask a simple query.”
