Stock market update: Mining stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Mining stocks were trading higher on Thursday at 10:55AM

Coal India(up 2.91%), Dvpt Corporation(up 2.63%), 20 Microns(up 1.99%), Pokarna(up 1.95%), MOIL(up 1.35%), NMDC Ltd(up 1.08%), Ashapura Minechem(up 0.93%), Madhav Marbles and Granites(up 0.86%), KIOCL(up 0.75%) and Orissa Minerals Development Company(up 0.38%) were among the top gainers.

Lexus Granito(down 4.95%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 114.45 points up at 17388.75, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 391.14 points at 58456.61 at around 10:55AM.

JSW Steel(up 3.57%), Hindalco Industries(up 3.06%), Coal India(up 2.93%), Axis Bank(up 2.11%), Tata Steel(up 1.98%), ICICI Bank(up 1.8%), HCL Technologies(up 1.68%), Tata Motors(up 1.67%), Larsen & Toubro(up 1.61%) and Infosys(up 1.61%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Cipla(down 1.32%), Bajaj Finance(down 1.28%), IndusInd Bank(down 1.03%), Hindustan Unilever(down 0.95%), Britannia Industries(down 0.68%), Divis Laboratories(down 0.55%), Power Grid Corporation of India(down 0.43%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(down 0.37%), Bharti Airtel(down 0.35%) and Enterprises(down 0.21%) were trading in the red.
